A local developer has proposed development within the protected area of one of signature ridgelines.  The proposed development affects views from Lafayette, Walnut Creek with the specific jurisdiction being Lafayette.

We are a group of concerned citizens primarily from Lafayette and Walnut Creek who are concerned about this development specifically, similar developments in general,  and potential trends for cities to relax their excellent standards in order to appear sensitive to short-term housing trends.

We have just won a victory in our efforts, by helping to clarify some of the deficiencies in the proposed design, both its location and proposed design.

Note: The pictures below and above are design drawings for a 35,000 sq. ft. office building.  The picture above shows the Haji project in the same scale.  The picture below gives a perspective on the true mass of such a structure.  Is this an aesthetically efficient way to build a single family home?
